When available and used effectively, teaching equipment and aids can enhance learning in the classroom. There are many devices that may (or may not) be available to me as a teacher. As most units have emphasized, planning and organizing is essential, and, particularly when it comes to using teaching equipment, it is imperative to plan for its use well ahead of class time. Teachers can select aids to supplement the engage, study, and activate components of a lesson. One of the most important aids to have available for student use is a dictionary. There are also many online dictionaries. In general, many learning and teaching aids can now be found online in forms that weren't available in the past. For examples, free, easily accessible videos can be found on YouTube, and students can connect with other students on forums and in online chat rooms. The websites provided in this unit will serve as great resources in the future as I work to compile resources/referrals and to design and supplement lessons.
