As a language teachers we know that language skills cannot be taught separately, but we are tackled simultaneously within the language teaching process. It is my belief that teachers should not be slaves to their coursebooks while teaching receptive skills, but should choose materials wisely, keeping in mind their learners' needs and and purposes for reading. I strongly support pre-reading tasks, they serve to bring the text closer to the reader allowing for easier interaction. On the part of teachers to keep learner motivated throughout the entire listening activity, pre-listening activities are of major importance in activating the learners 'schema.
