Preparation of an effective lesson plan requires much more thought and planning that it seems to. What appears to be a well-taught and well-received class requires a lot of forethought and preparation by the teacher. A teacher has to keep the class engaged and interested, the lessons have to be useful and deemed useful by the students and the teacher has to be prepared for the unexpected. The teacher also has to make sure that the students who are more shy or whose English is not on the same level as other students are able to participate without feeling afraid of ridicule. I am realizing how being a teacher is very difficult and I compare it to being a conductor of an orchestra. Also, the teacher is there to lead and guide and provide information but also needs to encourage participation and respect the ideas and beliefs of other people.
