This unit was extremely beneficial since we were able to view two examples of a teacher providing a lesson. When watching the first lesson I could immediately tell the teacher had a poor attitude and his tone was inappropriate. I felt uncomfortable watching, so one can only imagine how the students must have felt when expected to participate. It was important to see the difference between the two lessons and how the students reacted to the material presented to them. You can see a positive change in the second video because the students are more willing to participate since the teacher's attitude is more easy-going and the objective is clarified. I also found that the teacher introducing himself in the beginning and making a point to learn each individuals name made a big difference. It was also very useful to see how the ESA lesson plan can be effectively implemented.
