Ths unit taught me about different methods and techniques of teaching. There are different approaches that work with different leveled students. They include: grammar-translation, audio-lingualism,task-based learning and etc. The best methodology doesn't excist. It depends on individual circumstances. I also learnt that there is something called ESA exist. It means Engage-Study-Activate. It's a method that is commonly used in classrooms. Engage phase includes a lot of talking done by students, Study phase is mostly focused on construction of the language and Activate stage focuses on fluency of language usage. Each part is very important. I also found out that there is a plenty of different activities, games that teachers can use with students during the class for each phase of ESA. Now i know that correcting mistakes is quite important. But teachers have to be careful and pay attention when to correct students.
