With the wide variety of books and material available, it can be difficult to choose which to use. It is the responsibility of the teacher to analyze these materials for their appropriateness.
Several factors come into play when choosing books, some of which can be controlled by the teacher (the teacher can omit, replace etc. some of its contents) and other factors which the teacher cannot control (such as availability, price etc.). The teacher needs to identify the language need of the students, their level of proficiency and other factors to combine certain materials (if needed) to provide a balanced course.
