This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit we reflect on the different types of classes that we may teach in the future. From beginners (absolute beginners to beginners without the Roman alphabet), to teaching children, the way we must handle a class differs absolutely. We cannot expect an individual lesson (one on one) to have the same type of activities and repertoire as teaching a Business class. The point here, is to understand the differences of what one can and cannot do in a classroom. If, for example, one were to treat a children's class as one would an adult's, we would find that the children respond differently, so we have to adjust the way we teach, from our tone of voice, rules, and even activities. It is useful to know and have these tips available, as one can often get overwhelmed when changing from teaching adult beginners to teaching adult Business classes and others.
