This unit covered conditionals and reported speech. The five primary conditionals are enumerated: zero, first, second, third, and mixed. Each conditional is presented in its grammatical form, its usage, and a couple of sample sentences. The reported speech section illustrates how a sentence is transformed when it goes from a direct speech to reported speech. A very handy verb tense chart indicates the \"backshifting\" that occurs between direct and reported speech. As always, there are helpful teaching ideas for both topics. My favorite, I think, is the one in which a third party relays messages in a dispute.
