The purpose of unit seventeen is to discuss the various types of equipment and teaching aids available for use in the classroom. These can range from simple whiteboards, to interactive whiteboards, to overhead projectors, to videos, dictionaries, etc. These are considered visual aids and are very useful in helping to convey the meaning of the lessons being taught in the classroom. Teachers can rely on such a plethora of visual aids to help engage students and maintain their attention. As learned from previous lessons, of course, there are advantages and disadvantages to each type of visual aid. It is important to select the appropriate type of visual aid for the lesson.
