Unit 5 covered the basics of managing a classroom and provided me insight into why exactly teacher's conduct classrooms the way they do. What I'm taking away from this unit is a large part of managing a classroom is the relationship between the teacher and he student. Both the teacher and the students are integral parts of a classroom and must work together to create a perfect learning environment. Rapport was a large part of this and it is my opinion that it can be considered the foundation of this unit. In order for the learning experience to be successful and enjoyable for the students and teacher, both parties must have mutual respect for each other. This can be fostered through being positive, making the right seating arrangements, letting students interact, clear instructions, etc.
