Modal auxiliary verbs can have more than one usage, such as \"may\" can be used for a polite request, formal permission, or less than 50% certainty. This unit also reviews the 2 voices used in English which are the active: where the focus is on the agent and passive: where the agent is not so important to the sentance. I have learned that a good teaching idea for usage of modals of obligation, proibition, and permission is getting the students to creat rules for a hotel.
