This unit helped me to reflect more on the topics introduced in unit 1. The idea that lessons must be tailored to the skills, abilities and interests of the students is expanded upon with many useful examples of tasks, discussions and games that can engage the students and prepare their minds to open up to new language concepts. I appreciate the usefulness of understanding the many different theories or teaching methods for language skills. The ESA method is a way to visualize the lesson plan, make it engaging and to let me as the teacher to know what techniques to use in which stage of the lesson.
