Unit 10's use of comparison helped to highlight effective techniques when teaching. By first witnessing an unsuccessful lesson, I was able to better identify the successful techniques showcased in the second video. Gestures, drawings, miming, smiling, and the use of names are just a few examples of why lesson two was more successful than lesson one. The teachers attitude and approach to the students in lesson one is clearly ineffective, this is proven by their lack of participation and correct answers. The teachers condescending introduction to the lesson in the first video sets the students up for failure, as it doesn't allow them to confidently approach the new material without fear of being incorrect.
