This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focused on the importance of evaluation and testing for language training. I learned about some of the benefits of evaluating language, for example knowing what my students are learning and what they are having a hard time remembering. This is useful in guiding future lessons to meet their needs. It's also important for students to be more self aware through these evaluations and it can be encouraging to see test results that demonstrate how much progress they have made. Testing can take place before, during and at the end of the English course. Each of these evaluations has a distinct purpose. For example, a placement test helps the teacher identify what level of English classes each student needs. It was helpful to become aware of the most notable external examinations that are available for language proficiency and the emphasis that each of these evaluations has.
