This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit lesson was covered. What should be in a lesson plan and how to structure it was what I took away from this unit. Also, how to effectively use the lesson plan throughout the class. Being able to be flexible with your lesson plan is also important as students sometimes move at a faster or slower pace or may be enjoying a particular activity and you want to give them more time. I liked seeing how the ESA technique was used in an actual lesson plan and found I now have a clearer understanding of how to use ESA as well as how to plan a lesson using it. The model lesson plan was also useful and I will probably use it in the future. I don't have full control of my class at the moment as I am an assistant language teacher, so I would like to see how someone in my position who has only a small amount of input in the planning stage of the class can use the information in this unit. However, should I ever have full control of my whole class, I will use this model.
