In this unit, I saw two videos. In the first video, a lot of mistakes were made. In the beginning there was no introduction from the teacher, or the teacher eliciting any names from the students. The teacher then went on about \"modal auxillary verbs\" , which the students seem to have no idea about. This created tension in the classroom, and students were intimidated and afraid to answer questions. A teacher should never assume the students know beforehand what you are going to teach. In the second video, the teachers attitude was more pleasant, and the students were able to be more engaged, as the friendlier environment gave them the willingness to learn more effectively. He provided examples and used some TPR to help the students understand the lesson. The students were very much involved and were willing to participate and take home something that they learned on the day.
