This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit discusses the 2 receptive skills, reading and listening, both of which are equally as important. We use different skills for the aforementioned receptive skills, and these are used to process information effectively. Problems may arise more with listening skills, as usually a text is heard only once, whereas reading can be looked over again and again. We should also pre teach difficult words, but do not give out too much as the students will not be challenged. The teacher must choose a topic that is both interesting and engaging to the students, and provide adequate comprehension tasks that are realistically achievable at the end of the day.
