From this unit I have learn't about authentic and created materials and how they both have their advantages and disadvantages in the classroom. I also learn't the names of a few course books that are based on British English and two that are based on American English. Most importantly I learn't about what you should look for when buying a course book and how to use it, as in, what you should and shouldn't do with the course book. I feel that as I am a new, inexperienced teacher, I would do well with a course book, but would need to be careful not to base my entire lesson off the course book, but allow to omit, replace, supplement and adapt certain tasks to my students needs in the English language.
