This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is my favorite unit thus far. My favorite part of teaching is the interaction with the students. Whether covering a lesson with the entire class, or working one-on-one with a student, the focus must be on the motivation and improvement of those students.
I have used pairs, small groups and large groups with much success over the years. Our school is equipped with Apple projectors that will allow us to project our computers on the main screen. It will also allow the students to share information with the class by projecting their screens from anywhere in the room. We have used this method to engage the students through circles, horseshoes, rows, or tables. The variety makes it easier for the students to stay engaged and participate.
When considering teacher interaction with students, eye contact is particularly important. I found this lesson interesting when stating that too much
eye contact can make a student uncomfortable and should be avoided. Gestures and movement within the classroom are all extremely important ways of communicating.
