This unit gave me an insight about the importance of class management, and more specifically, the choice of seating and type of groups. Each type of group has its advantages and disadvantages when it comes to learning a language. Larger groups can become a field for confident students to \"show off\" with their knowledge, while shy students will remain silent and will therefore not practice their language skills enough. Individual groups have their benefits by making students more reliant and independent in their studies, however, they will miss the opportunity to work in pairs and practice talking with their classmates. They will also get used to talking to the teacher in a correct language, and will not develop the skill of trying to figure out a message expressed in a non-perfect language. The other aspects of this unit helped me learn the best ways to maintain a good rapport and discipline in the class by being on time, prepared and consecutive in my instructions, and avoid conflicts, shouting and letting my anger out.
