Unit 20 talked about troubleshooting and some of the most common problems situations that teachers can encounter in the classroom and suggest ways of dealing with them.
The first aspect discussed in this Unit was how to conduct first lessons and the appropriate activities to use to establish rapport, find out about the students and their needs and to find out the English level of each individual in the classroom.
The second aspect taught in this Unit was the warmers and the typical warmers activities teachers can use.
I have learnt about how to deal with a group of students with mixed levels and how to make the most of their best abilities.
I have also learnt about how to deal large classes and a number of techniques to create successful classes.
The following topics in this Unit was the use of native language in the classroom and things teachers can do to avoid this, how to deal with reluctant students and how to encourage participation and difficulties with listening texts and possible solutions that can address this issue.
