This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit provides a comprehensive list of methodologies for teaching lessons. Typically it is important to engage the students with a fun or interesting activity, allowing them to warm up. Students must also have time to study critical areas such as pronunciation, word meaning and text analysis. Towards the end of the lesson the students should \"activate\" all of their language knowledge, including what they have just learned, in an activity that encourages fluency rather than complete accuracy. Different methodologies place emphasis on different skills such as direct translation (Grammar-Translation), or communicative (CCL) abilities that will provide more insight with real-world and social situations. The students provide feedback to the teacher by showing how well the lesson went. An example of positive feedback from students is improved confidence with the language. Positive feedback and constructive criticism from the teacher is also incredibly useful to the students at the end of the lesson to reinforce their motivation for the next lesson.
