This unit concerned itself with course material. It stated the advantages and disadvantages of both authentic material and created material. I can picture that inexperienced teachers often uses the coursebook as a crutch to help with their insecurities but, taking all the advantages and disadvantages into account, I think a healthy mix of the tried and tested syllabus from a coursebook together with flexible and engaging creative materials will result in the best lesson overall.
I think I have some ideas after this lesson on how to plan a lesson together with the knowledge gained from the previous eight units.
