In this unit I learnt the details of past tense, simple past tense- I ate the food, past perfect- I had eaten the food, past continuous- I was eating food, Past perfect continuous- I had been eating food. I have learnt all their usages and different forms. There are various activate teaching techniques for all these past tenses. Foe example- for teaching simple past tense- Interview role play, discussing about past holidays/events, to teach the irregular verb forms through game cards etc. Like this other activate teaching techniques are there for other past tenses as well. One must keep a note of the common mistakes and errors students make while using these past tenses.
