In this unit, I learned how to teach three different aspects of a language, including vocabulary, grammar and language functions. The chapter presented examples of techniques appropriate for teaching each of these aspects. The activities were divided into the Engage, Study and Activate phases. In addition, these activities were presented in a straight arrow pattern, as well as the patchwork and boomerang pattern to demonstrate how a lesson can be made to have more variety. This unit also discussed relevant factors in selecting what vocabulary, grammar and language functions to introduce to students.
