This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered lesson planning. I was interested to note that it is acceptable to have simple, flexible plans, as I believed they may be considered lazy or underprepared, even though I have begun to use them. In the beginning I used a very precise plan including all data and overfilled the lesson with learning objectives. I would inevitably end up with a lesson plan that would actually cover at least half of another lesson, if not more. I've since learned to have learning objectives and activities planned for a unit and then adjust what day the activities take place because so often they do not meet my timing expectations. This unit (and actually this test) have been very helpful in further cementing ideas for a good lesson plan sequence or procedure, and when activities best take place. ESA is becoming clearer.
