This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Although it has been a couple of years, I learned a lot about the difficulties of the English language and the tenses when I took Latin. This unit, while still providing plenty of new information, was also a big refresher for me. I appreciate having the prior knowledge because learning the different parts of past, present, and future tenses can be very difficult, and I already have a fairly good understanding of how to identify them. This unit went into a lot of detail in explaining the different past tenses and providing examples of each one and how to tell them apart. I greatly appreciate the tasks at the end of the unit, as well, which allow me the opportunity to work through examples myself and try to come up with ways to explain answers and choices easily and succinctly so that others would also understand. Although it certainly doesn't compare to live experience in a classroom, these tasks provide the opportunity to think about ways to teach new and, potentially, difficult materials.
