There are a great number of theories, methods and techniques to use when teaching EFL. ESA (Engage, Study and Activate is the method that the most emphasis was placed on. The method provides teachers with flexibility and can easily be adapted keeping the needs of the students in mind. There are three main orders in which the method is used the first being the \"straight arrow\". In this lesson the teacher will engage, study and activate. The second sequence is a \"boomerang lesson\" in which the teacher would first engage the students, then activate, study and activate once more. This approach is more suitable for higher level students. Lastly, one can take the patchwork approach which allows for a greater deal of flexibility.
