Unit 6 starts with a brief introduction followed by an invitation to watch two videos. The teacher in the first video appears ineffective in engaging the student. However, in the second video he speaks clearly, using mime and pictures, referring to students by their names, and is generally more organised and interested. Thus, the second lesson is more successful in getting the students to be involved and to learn a range of vocabulary as well as the use of a modal verb. I feel that the two videos have reinforced in me the concept that a teacher's attitude, manners and style can influence the receptiveness of the students.
