This unit has been interesting to get a better knowledge about the different types of English certificates students can take. That way, according to their interests and motivations, us, as their teachers, can orientate them towards an exam or another, and also help them to get ready for them through practice tests. For instance, if I might have a group of teenagers or Young adults who would like to continue their studies in an English-speaking country, I should prepare them for a TOEFL or IELTS. If their motivation to learn English is due to their jobs, then I should prepare them towards a more business-related evaluation.
Taking the type of evaluation in consideration before starting, might also help me (as a teacher) to create more effective lesson plans.
