In this day and age, there are various tools and technology that may be used to augment/ enhance a lesson. They include classics like the chalk and white board, cassette player, overhead projectors, video recorder, work sheets/cards, dictionaries, videos etc. And newer versions such as the interactive white board with varying capabilities. Online resources such as electronic dictionaries and websites are available to aid both the students and teacher. Video recording has also become simpler because smart phones now have that capability. When writing on a board avoid the use of capitalized lettering, using underlines, circles or a different color to highlight main point. Also ensure that visual aids, handwriting and boards can be clearly viewed by all members of the class. When using technology in classes the main takeaway points are to be prepared, ensure that the equipment is working properly and that you, the teacher, have the skill to use it, also always have a backup plan as technology sometimes fails.
