A lot of important information was imparted in Unit 5. The unit starts off with good ideas regarding eye contact, gestures and voice. It was explained how these notions can and should be used in a classroom setting. Correct use of students' names was covered next. The next part dewalt with how to arrange a classroom depending on physical space available, number of students and classroom furniture. It also dealt with the location of the teacher in the classroom. Different configurations and their pros and cons were discussed. Teacher talking time and student talking time and the relative importance of each was covered. Giving instructions, establishing rapport and handling problem behaviour were some of the most interesting valuable parts of this unit. Overall I found Unit 5 to be quite eye opening and very informative.
