We learned the basic formats of how to teach a class. The lesson included Task-Based learning, Communication Language Teaching, The silent way, ect. We focused on the ESA method. This consists of Engage, Study and Activate. We learned about these three stages in more detail with many examples provided.In the engage stage, a teacher works to introduce new language in a fun and fresh way that sparks the students interest. In the study stage, teachers give encourage students to nail down the language and understand the grammar and practice pronunciation. Finally, students activate the language and are encouraged to use as much of it as possible in a fun, life exercise.
