Unit 9 goes through formulating a lesson plan. Lesson plans are an aid to help the teacher set realistic and achievable goals (for both teacher and student), determine the language/vocabulary that they will cover, list any materials/equipment required for the lesson, and create brief points on how the lesson will progress, what activities will be done in what phase, and how long to spend on each phase. An important part of lesson planning also includes contingencies. Up and down contingencies should be considered if a student is picking up the language faster or slower than planned. Adjusting your lesson plan and being flexible is important to ensure each student is working towards achieving the desired goals, and feels motivated and successful during class.
