This unit was a brief, yet still highly informative, unit regarding the potential problems that a teacher may face during an ESL classroom environment. For example a teacher may encounter problems such as; students at different levels (pairing weaker and stronger students together is one potential counteraction to this), large classes (utilising pair or group work in large-sized classes can also be another solution to this) and the students? use of their native language (the teacher only responding to English is a solution that I often make use of in my ESL classes). However, I always find reluctant students in the class very difficult to engage with and this unit has highlighted that using other students can help support reluctant students.
