Unit 11 taught me about receptive skills. There are 4 basic skill, however this unit was focused on reading and listening. All receptive skills are equally important. The motives for reading and listening skills are for purposes and entertainment. In regards to the specialist skill, depends what I'm working on I use predictive, scanning, skimming, detailed and deduction of the text. In regards to the teaching portion, choosing the right topics to help motivate student by building interest and engage students, pre teaching difficult vocal, use of materials to practice different skills, comprehension to aid in understanding and incorporate activate stage to gain knowledge from what students learned.
