Coming from England I was already quite familiar with the United Kingdom system of education. However I was unfamiliar with the details of the others. I knew of the names such as TOEFL, IELTS etc but never the details. It was interesting to understand the details regarding these. Also the differences between the assessment criteria (Tests) and when they should be conducted was interesting. I was slightly confused between diagnostic testing and placement testing as which one should come first? Does the teacher conduct these assessments? It was my belief that the diagnostic tests came first then the placement tests, but a question I may have for the future is to determine which test to do first and how to do the test for the students.
