Unit 19 on Teaching Special Groups covered best practices and common pitfalls for teaching beginners of different age groups and backgrounds. This ranged from teaching individual students, teaching children, to teaching Business English for adults. I personally felt that the needs analysis form mentioned for adults is a very helpful form for gauging individual students? needs too. Of course in a business setting, there are more defined goals within a certain time range. However, I strongly believe that students should feel the ability to request and choose what they learn as it will get their attention more.
