This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I find wrapping my head around the usages is hard. With this lesson, I found that my ability to remember the different structures of simple (past and present), perfect, and continuous is greatly improving. With the past, figuring out what happened or was finished first, and then if it is or may be continuing, or refers to a definite or indefinite time, can be mind boggling. I have to slow down and really read through the usage descriptions. When I think about my Asian students who have one verb for anything, and then they have to try and learn the English verb structure, I have a better understanding of why it is so hard for them. I still struggle a bit in explaining why they may make the mistakes they do. Though I am better able to recognize what they have done.
