The end goal of learning a new language (whichever this may be) is to be able to communicate in that language. The productive skills focus in the 2 most common ways to do so: Writing and Speaking. So without detracting the Receptive Skills, the Productive skills are perhaps the most influential activities for any 'new language student'. This unit helps in remarking the importance of the student practice in any of these forms with the teacher guiding each step but without correcting on every little mistake, for the teacher understand that the practice of both speaking and writing will eventually lead the student to master the language.
