This unit focused on receptive skills. Reading and listening are two receptive skills that we need to teach. As teachers need to find interesting ways to get our students to use their receptive skills in class. We can do this by using a variety of topics to engage the students. Also, the more we get to know our students, the more we can engage them by using topics of interest to them. We need to remember to get them engaged and involved before we present the material. We should also pre teach vocabulary that may be difficult. This unit gave an example of a class structure to help assist us when we want to teach receptive skills.
