Thinking back on the textbooks I used when studying a second language at university, what immediately springs to mind is the length of chapters. The chapters were extremely short and usually just included a few grammar points and vocabulary words. Having proceeded through this chapter this makes me think that they were probably geared for teachers with some experience rather than beginners. I believe that this too is probably an important part of choosing a textbook, given the chance, or adapting a textbook, besides the ones listed. If a barebones textbook is the one provided to teach with, a new teacher would have to create more activities for the class, which could be an issue.
