Finally, testing your students is important. You need to know which test to give them depending on what you want from them. When a new student comes to your school, they should be given a placement test to gauge their English ability. On the first lesson of a class, you may want to give the students a basic diagnostic test to see what you should spend extra time focusing on. Through the class, progress tests should be given to see how well the students understand the new material. Finally, if you are teaching a class to get students ready for a big test that will be taken outside of the school, practice tests are an important part of the curriculum.
