Authentic materials are any sort of written material that a native speaker could come across in everyday life. They are best used in the classroom with more advanced students and are good for giving the students confidence about their level of English mastery. Created materials are those that are designed for English teaching setting and are more tailored to a specific level of English learner. They will be more useful in beginning level classes. This unit also covered the pros and cons of using coursebooks. Coursebooks have their place in the classroom, but the teacher must be careful not to overuse them, and is wise to supplement and adapt the material to make the lesson more specific to the class' needs and learning styles.
