In this unit I leant the importance of classroom management, how important the sitting arrangement is and what your position, sitting or standing could indicate.
I also learnt that eye contact and hand gestures play an important role in the classroom as teacher talk time should be kept to a minimum allowing the students to speak as much as possible. Also I grasped how to gain and maintain respect from students without getting angry or shouting.
This unit teaches the importance of classroom arrangement, teacher position and basic body language of the teacher. It stated and listed examples of what eye contact and hang gestures could be used for in the class room. It also taught the disadvantages of having your back to the class while writing on the board and gave examples of how to reduce the occurrence of that.
