The unit at hand focused on why, when and how a lesson should be planned. It starts with the rationale of the three main reasons why a lesson has to be planned in advance : to establish a record, as an aid and reference for the teacher to carry and respect the goals of the lesson, and as a goal-establishing document. A teacher has to also think about the single lessons as stepping stones to build upon a bigger general picture, which is the goal of the course itself. In this micromanaging task, he must also allow for some flexibility to keep in mind all the variables that come out throughout the course.
The lesson plan has to be structured in a specific way, complete with detailed but straight forward informations. Some of these informations are : date, class informations, language point, teaching aids, objectives, anticipated problems and procedure. Both the pdf and video lesson provided me with all the tools and explanations to enable me to create such a document.
