In this unit we learn about evaluating and testing students. It gives three ways to assess a students language level, they are tutorials, evaluation by the students and tests. It outlines four types of tests that can be given to the students. Placement tests which allow the teaches to place new students into the correct class depending on their language ability. Progress tests which gauge what language has been remembered or acquired and what language has been forgotten. Diagnostic tests which help show the teachers what the students already know and can aid in lesson planning. Practice tests which prepare the students for external exams. It covered the most common external examinations and what they test namely TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, Cambridge Assessments, ESOL, BEC and BULATS.
