It's definitely very important to go over all these tenses before teaching English as a foreign language. There are so many rules in English that native speakers do not think about. I knew there were a lot of tenses, but I did not realize there were twelve. I think it will be helpful to focus on the different present tenses and then go on to past and future tenses. This unit was good because it made me think about the past and present tenses from the previous lessons. Learning the rules of conditional statements and reported speech will help me explain the usage to students quite simply. I say this because I know how to form these sentences but didn't know how to correctly define or explain them till before reading this unit.
