This unit teaches productive skills, i.e. speaking and writing. For speaking there are two important activities, accuracy and fluency. Accuracy activities are focused on producing correct language, while fluency activities allow students to be creative. Students should always be encouraged to speak in the classroom. Meanwhile, writing activities should consider issues such as handwriting, spelling and punctuation.This unit has to do with the different present tenses, a topic that can be very confusing. I feel it will take some time for me to get used to these tenses. However practice does make perfect. I also can see that this is a topic that will take some skills to teach, luckily as long as I can practice I will get the hang of it. The two tenses that confuse me the most are present perfect and present perfect continuous.
