In this unit I have learned what is important about teaching vocabulary, How to select vocabulary and what do students need to know about vocabulary item.
I had knowledge of ESA techniques from earlier unit and I already knew about Straight arrow, Boomerang and Patchwork.
Also I already knew when to use engage, study and activate.It is important for students to be exposed to new language, understand its meaning, understand how it's constructed and be able to practice it. This is done by expanding vocabulary, teaching grammar, and teaching grammar functions. This can be fairly easy to teach if vocabulary is appropriate to the task and students, and how frequent they are likely to use the vocabulary.
